GANDHI- JAYANTI VALUE WEEK CELEBRATION
GANDHI- JAYANTI
VALUE WEEK CELEBRATION
Carmel
school had organised special assembly for a week to honour Mahatma Gandhi and
impart his values in students and their day-to-day living.
Gandhi
Jayanti is celebrated every year on October 2 to honour the legendary leader, Mahatma Gandhi without whom,
India wouldn't have been free from the clutches of the Britishers. His
non-violent ways united millions of people to follow the path of 'Ahimsa' and
protest against the evil oppression. Gandhi Jayanti is a special occasion for all of us
to rededicate ourselves to the values of truth, non-violence, harmony, morality
and simplicity. Satya, Ahimsa and Sarvodaya formed the bedrock of Mahatma
Gandhi’s numerous messages to humanity. Mahatma Gandhi was respected as a
global icon across continents for his great values. United Nations has marked
Gandhi Jayanti as ‘The International Day of Non-Violence’.
Gandhian values and many
of his methods remain relevant not only for India but for the entire world. Mahatma Gandhi has brought many social
reformations in society and has shown the path to communal unity. Students
presented values of Mahatma Gandhi through drama, song and skit during the
value week of Mahatma Gandhi.
